Tunisia: Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus Proposes General Lockdown in 1st Two Days of Eid

Tunis/Tunisia — The Scientific Committee to Combat the Coronavirus had proposed a general health lockdown in 1st two days of Eid Al-Fitr, said Committee member Amenallah Al-Masaadi on Wednesday to TAP.

He added that during a meeting held on Tuesday, the committee had also proposed a ban on inter-city travel from May 8, as well as on gatherings and all kinds of celebrations, stressing the need to strictly enforce sanctions against violators.

Masaadi specified that the epidemiological situation in Tunisia is serious, putting great pressure on ICU and oxygen beds and the failure in many cases to support patients, hence these proposals to curb the spread of the pandemic as much as possible.
