Tunisia: Covid-19 - Death Tally Surges in Nabeul

Tunis/Tunisia — Five COVID-19 fatalities were reported in Nabeul governorate during the weekend, taking the death toll in the region to 648 since the outbreak of the pandemic.

91 infections were further recorded from 423 tests made, pushing the governorate's infection tally to 19,981, including 1,473 recoveries.

An infection case with the South-African variant had recently been recorded in the governorate, Nabeul Local Health Directorate Raja Mahfoudh Mchirgui stated to TAP.

The infected patient is a foreigner from Burundi who had recently visited the region, she specified.
