Ethiopia: News - Canada Provides $2 M to FAO to Help Livelihoods Affected By Covid-19, Desert Locusts in Ethiopia

Addis Abeba — The Government of Canada has contributed USD$ 2.2 million to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)'s program safeguarding livelihoods affected by COVID-19 and desert locusts in Ethiopia.

FAO is implementing the 18-months "Support vulnerable communities in Afar and Somali regions to mitigate the negative impacts of COVID-19 and desert locusts" project in Afar and Somali regions, benefiting over 21 000 pastoral and agro-pastoral households.
