Angola: Covid-19 - Angola Announces 259 Fresh Cases, 42 Recoveries

Luanda — Angola reported Wednesday 259 infections, 42 recoveries and 6 fatalities, according to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda.

As many as 227 new cases were reported in Luanda, 12 in Huíla, 6 in Cabinda, 5 in Benguela, 2 in Cunene, 2 in Uíge and Zaire, Mufinda told a daily covid-19 update briefing.

The new cases feature 126 men and 133 women patients, aged 1 month - 75 years.

The deaths, he said, were reported in Luanda, with 5, and Huíla with 1 case.

Angola has currently 29,405 positive cases, 645 deaths, 25,187 recoveries and 3,573 active patients.

He also said that 290 patients are hospitalised in the treatment centers, while 53 are in the institutional quarantine centers

The authorities monitor 1,640 positive case contacts.
