Africa: Covid-19 Death Toll Nears 127,000 Across Continent

Cape Town — As of May 19, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 4,706,525 while over 15,420,119 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 126,889  and 4,219,340 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases -  1,617,840 - and  55,340 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 515,420), Tunisia ( 328,528), Ethiopia (267,100), Egypt (248,078), Libya ( 182,012 ) and Nigeria (165,778).
