Tunisia: Large Quantities of Rapid Covid-19 Tests Purchased, Some Earmarked for Private Sector (Minister)

Tunis/Tunisia — The ministry of Health has purchased a large quantity of rapid tests, some of which will be earmarked for the private sector, Minister Faouzi Mehdi said as he visited Tataouine Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, the minister poinetd out that emergency and intensive care units at the local hospital of Tataouine will be provided with the necessary equipment to take care of patients, adding 8 ambulances will be made available to the region.

Mehdi was briefed on the work of the COVID-19 ward at the hospital, which has a capacity of 12 oxygen beds and 6 IC beds, with the possibility of adding 6 more beds.
