Tunisia: Covid-19 - Nearly 48,000 Education Staff, 773 University Teachers Vaccinated

Tunis/Tunisia — About 48,000 education staff and 773 university teachers received the COVID-19 vaccine, Adviser to the Health Minister Ines Ayadi said on Wednesday.

The jab drive for university teachers kicked off Tuesday at the University Medical Centre, Tunis Science Faculty, she told TAP. The list of priority recipients (aged over 50 or with chronic diseases) includes 7,000 higher education teachers.

Recipients need to have registered earlier on Evax.tn platform, the official said. The list of priority recipients submitted by the Education Ministry includes over 70,000 teachers aged over 50 or suffering from chronic diseases, she Ayadi said.

The vaccination campaign for education staff started last May 24.
