Botswana: Department Warns Against Unsafe Feed

Gaborone — Farmers have been advised to discontinue using Tholo Holdings beef finisher.

A media release from the Department of Veterinary Services says the product had tested positive for Salimomycin, a prohibited feed addictive for bovines.

The release says feed distributors had been requested to discontinue supplying the product, pending further investigations.

It further advised against slaughtering animals exposed to the feed for export to the EU and UK markets.
