Tunisia: La Sapienza" University Awarded Honorary Doctorate in Roman Law to President Kais Saied

Tunis/Tunisia — (TAP correspondent/Maroua Ben Abdennebi)-The University of Rome "La Sapienza" awarded, on Wednesday in Rome, the honorary doctorate in Roman law and in the theory of ordinances and the market's private law, to President Kais Saied.

During a ceremony held at the university's headquarters, the rector of La Sapienza in Rome, Antonella Polimeni, said that her institution is honoured to grant this doctorate to the President of the Republic, Kais Saied for his active role in the Tunisian revolution and his contribution in the elaboration of the Tunisian laws and constitution of 2014.

On this occasion, the President of the Republic gave a lecture on Islam and law, during which he stressed the importance of implementing the will of the people and "moving from a State of law to a society of rule of law".
