Tunisia: Siliana - 60 Hectares of Wheat Destroyed By Fire

Tunis/Tunisia — The units of the civil protection in Siliana have succeeded, in collaboration with the forest rangers of the region, to put under control a fire which started on Wednesday afternoon in Doukhania in the delegation of El Krib.

The fire destroyed 50 hectares of durum wheat, 10 hectares of soft wheat and 100 bales of hay before spreading to 85 hectares of harvested cereal residues, Regional Director of Civil Protection in Siliana, Mohamed Ali Ben Behi, told TAP, adding that the causes of the fire are still unknown.
