Tunisia: Athletics-22nd Arab Championships - Nesrine Lachheb Wins Gold Medal in Javelin Throw

Tunis/Tunisia — Tunisian Nesrine Lachheb bagged the gold medal at the first day of the 22nd Arab Athletics Championship held in Tunis, after winning the javelin throw event for women.

Lachheb made a throw of 39.69 meters, beating Egyptian Rola Semh Raafat Riadh (2nd, 38.91m) and Iraqi Essya Aziz Kader Kader (3rd, 35.36m).

Earlier in the day, Tunisian Raouf Redissi earned the gold medal in the 20 km walk, while the top two places in the women's event went to Tunisian Chahinez Nasri and Cyrine Mejri who won the gold and silver medals, respectively.
