Tunisia: Alleged Murder Attempts of President - Arp Committee Requests Hearing of Interior Minister

Tunis/Tunisia — The Committee on the Organisation of Administration and the Affairs of the Armed Forces, which met on Wednesday, demanded a question- and- answer session be held in the shortest time possible with the acting interior minister or his representative.

The minister will have to answer questions about reports of alleged murder attempts of the President of the Republic and the recent incidents in Sidi Hassine Séjoumi.

The President's recent remarks took centre stage at the meeting, the House of People's Representatives (French: ARP) said. The committee invited the Presidency of the Republic to present evidence and inform the public prosecutor to uncover the truth about the whole matter.
