Africa: Justice Minister Meets With Director of UNOPS North Africa Office

Tunis/Tunisia — The follow-up of infrastructure projects and the IT system of the Justice Ministry was at the centre of a meeting, on Monday, between acting Justice Minister Hasna Ben Slimen and North Africa country manager of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Nathalie Angibeau.

The meeting discussed the progress of some infrastructure projects concerning the Court of First Instance of Nabeul, the Centre for the Re-education of Minors of El Mourouj and the National School of Prisons and Re-education of Borj Touil.

Emphasis was also placed on the rehabilitation of the civil prison of El Houareb in Kairouan, the re-education centre for juvenile offenders, the Bouchoucha detention centre and the women's prision in Manouba.

Moreover, the meeting tackled projects to strengthen the Ministry's IT system.

These projects are co-financed by the European Union, within the framework of the Tunisia's programme for justice system reform, the statement added.
