Tunisia: Mechichi Stresses Govt's Commitment to Implement Agreement Reached With UGTT At 5+5 Meeting

Tunis/Tunisia — Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi stressed at his meeting with Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Noureddine Taboubi Tuesday his government's commitment to speed up the implementation of the agreement reached during the 5 + 5 meeting between the two sides.

Mechichi also reminded of sorting out the situation of construction workers and the reactivation of the February 6 agreement.

The epidemiological situation across the country and the follow-up of negotiations between the government and the UGTT as well as the challenges to be met, particularly the repercussions of the pandemic on vulnerable groups, were also discussed.

Taboubi said this meeting is an opportunity to confirm the credibility of negotiations with the government, reads a statement of the Prime Ministry.

He also welcomed the government's commitment to publish the implementing decrees of the February 6.

The meeting also shed light on the development of the epidemic situation seen as critical in several regions across the country and the need to unify efforts and support measures taken by the government in order to provide the necessary assistance in these difficult circumstances.
