Cape Town — Former president Jacob Zuma's legal team is expected to file an urgent application against the Constitutional Court ruling that Zuma be imprisoned for 15 months for contempt, in the Pietermaritzburg High Court, according to eNCA reporter Karyn Maughan.

Zuma was on June 29, 2021 sentenced by the Constitutional Court's Acting Deputy Chief Justice Sisi Khampepe for " wilfully defying the  Court's order to appear before the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, despite being aware of the consequences".

According to News24, Zuma will be imprisoned at Westville Prison in KwaZulu Natal Province.

Zuma supporters, including military veterans, have gathered at his homestead at Nkandla to protest against his impending imprisonment.
