Tunisia: Tataouine - Arms Smuggling Operation Foiled Near Buffer Zone - Defence

Tunis/Tunisia — Military units deployed in Remada, in the governorate of Tataouine, thwarted Tuesday afternoon a weapons smuggling operation (74 12mm shotguns).

According to the Ministry of National Defence, the military units intercepted two smuggling vehicles near the border buffer zone in Jnine. They were able to stop one of the two vehicles; the second one escaped and reached Libyan territory.

The guns were seized and will be handed over to the local customs units.
