Tunisia: MoD Calls for Reinforcing Promptness and Operational Capabilities of Tunisian Air Force

Tunis/Tunisia — In a context characterised by many challenges at home and abroad, and in light of the surrounding regional and international situation, Tunisia has to reinforce the promptness and operational capabilities of its air force, said Thursday Defence Minister Brahim Bartégi on the occasion of the graduation of the "Mahmoud Messadi" promotion at the Borj El Amri Aviation School.

The minister called according to a department press release, for massive investment in the air force and human resources to build competencies and leaders capable of adapting to the new situation.

"In light of the changes that have occurred at the regional and international scales, Tunisia is now called upon to draw more inspiration from the experiences and expertise of foreign countries, particularly in the field of training, armament and technological development," he pointed out.

The Minister also underlined the importance of national support to the military institution to develop and boost the army's level of responsiveness as well as its financial means with a view to upgrading its infrastructure and military equipment.
