Africa: Over 39 Million Covid-19 Vaccinations Administered Across Continent

As of July 16 confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 6,201,701 while over 39,472,679 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 157,259 and 5,394,294 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 2,283,880 and 66,677 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (555,488), Tunisia (540,798), Egypt (283,636), Ethiopia (277,615), Libya (214,568) and Kenya (192,435).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
