Africa: Nearly 6.4 Million Covid-19 Cases Across Continent

As of July 23 confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 6,368,328 while over 41,619,926 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 161,593 and 5,574,826 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 2,342,330 and 68,625 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (567,758), Tunisia (558,306), Egypt (283,906), Ethiopia (278,105), Libya (227,433) and Kenya (195,111).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
