Tunisia: In Tozeur, Young People Demonstrate and Demand " Departure of Political Class in Power

Tunis/Tunisia — Young people from the region of Tozeur gathered, Sunday, in front of the headquarters of the governorate, to demand "the departure of the political class in power.

The demonstrators also chanted slogans calling for "solutions to development problems" in the region and "the creation of employment opportunities.

They then marched peacefully through the streets of the city and called to "defend the objectives of the revolution," including those related to youth employment and respect for human dignity.

In recent days, media and social media have relayed calls to demonstrate on Sunday, July 25, launched by the "Higher Council of Youth". Some political parties have, however, said they can not support these calls to demonstrate in view of the health situation. They also stated that they do not know the parties behind these initiatives.
