Africa: Egypt Joins Statute of African Medicines Agency

Egypt on Wednesday joined the statute establishing the African Medicines Agency.

Egypt's Ambassador here Usama Abdel Khalek and its permanent delegate to the African Union signed the statute in a ceremony that was attended by AU Commissioner for Social Affairs and Health Amira Fadel.

In a statement issued by the embassy, the ambassador said that the new African agency will play an important role for enhancing public health in Africa.
