Tunisia: Health Ministry Explores Ways to Accelerate Covid-19 Vaccination Drive

Tunis/Tunisia — Acting Health Minister Mohamed Trabelsi, Wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry, met with a delegation of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), led by Deputy Secretary-General Monem Amira.

The meeting discussed ways to promote the work of the scientific committee of COVID-19 vaccination and the Evax platform and to complete the vaccination of health professionals before the end of July.

Trabelsi stressed the need to improve working conditions in vaccination centres and to accelerate the pace of vaccination to administer 100,000 doses per day.

He reiterated the readiness of the Ministry to take all appropriate measures for the protection of health professionals and to prosecute the perpetrators of aggression through the unit of legislation and litigation.

The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the union of doctors, dentists and pharmacists of university hospitals Ahlem Belhaj, Secretary-General of the health federation Othmen Jallouli and Secretary-General of the union of doctors, dentists and pharmacists of the public health Nouredine Ben Abdallah.
