South Africa: Nearly 42 Million Covid-19 Vaccinations Administered Across Continent

As of July 29 confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 6,582,281 while over 41,897,630 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 167,122 and 5,768,840 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 2,408,525 and 70,908 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (597,876), Tunisia (578,962), Egypt (284,128), Ethiopia (279,153), Libya (243,470) and Kenya (199,941).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
