Tunisia: Fina to Construct International Centre for High Performance Swimmers in Tunisia

Tunis/Tunisia — The International Swimming Federation (Fina) President Hussain Al-Musallam decided to construct an international centre for high performance swimmers in Tunisia, exclusively for North Africa, as a tribute to the achievement of Tunisian swimmer Mohamed Ayoub Hafnaoui at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The decision was made following the Fina President's meeting with the Tunisian Olympic champion, says the Tunisian National Olympic Committee (CNOT) on Thursday.

The CNOT considers that building such a centre in Tunisia is "an asset that adds to the Tunisian swimming school which will boost its visibility on the international scene and reinforce sports diplomacy through investment in success."
