Nigeria: UNICEF, WHO Decry Low Rate of Exclusive Breastfeeding in Nigeria

As the world marks this year's World Breastfeeding Week, the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, and the World Health Organisation, WHO, have faulted the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in Nigeria which the 2018 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey, NDHS, put at 29 per cent rate.

The duo posited that the 29 per cent still falls significantly below the target of 50 per cent set by the World Health Assembly to be achieved in 2025 and the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target for 2030.
