Tunis/Tunisia — Tunisia is able to overcome obstacles with the will of its people and the support provided by its friends, said President Kais Saied as he met on Sunday evening with Governor the Central Bank of Tunisia (French: BCT) Marouane El Abassi. This support will help it unwind its financial imbalances and meet internal and external commitments.
"I will announce at the right time the historic position of some countries at this historic moment, notably their economic support," Saied added, at a time when State coffere were emptied.
"This war will be won without bullets or bloodshed, but through the law based on justice and freedom," the Head of the State said.
There will be no backsliding on rights and freedoms, Saied said. The President said, in this connection, he "respects the law that expresses the will of the people, not alliances."
"I chose to stand on the side of the people so as to preserve the State's unity and protect it against the ever-gnawing corruption," the Head of the State said, while commending the spantaneous momentum of solidarity among citizens.
