Africa: Over 7.6 Million Confirmed Cases of Covid-19 Across Continent

As of August 26, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 7,622,944 while over 60,684,212 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 191,685 and 6,720,884 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 2,722,202 and  80,469 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 829,137 ), Tunisia ( 647,483 ), Libya (300,455), Ethiopia ( 300,092 ), Egypt ( 286,938 ) and Kenya ( 232,052 ).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
