For a while, the fanny pack was no longer fashionable. However, this has changed in the last few years. The hip bag, also known as fanny pack, bum bag or waist bag, is back! Where the bags were previously only worn by tourists and hikers, the bags have become an integral part of fashion today. After all, it is much easier to carry around than a backpack, such as an Eastpak rugzak. At the same time, it usually also offers quite some space for your stuff. This is also the case for a clutch, but a waist bag is often easier to carry around. This is the case since you can wear it in five different ways, as you can see below.

Around your hips

You can of course wear the belt bag for what it was originally intended for: around your hips. For example, wear it with nice jeans and a good pair of sneakers. This way your outfit is completely finished and it is also very practical. In fact, this was the way you were supposed to wear a fanny pack in the past. However, nowadays this is no longer really the case, although most people still wear the bum bag this way. On the other hand, the other ways mentioned in this blog are becoming increasingly popular as well.

Around your waist

In addition to being able to wear a bum bag in your hips, you can also wear it a little higher, namely around your waist. For example, wear the belt bag over your jacket, a blazer or over an oversized t-shirt. Very practical, because now you no longer have to carry a bag, but you still have all your belongings within reach. On top of that, this might feel a bit more comfortable than wearing the fanny pack around your hips, although it of course depends on your own preference.

As a belt

Besides the two methods that have been mentioned previously, you can also use a belt bag perfectly as a belt. Your waist bag is not just a bag, but multifunctional. You can easily pull the belt of your fanny pack through the loops of your pants. This way you no longer need a belt, you look stylish and you have all your things within reach. It is very multifunctional, while it will be a good look as well. Because you wear the fanny pack as a belt, it will be around your hips. Not everyone likes this, but maybe you do!

Cross body

Lately you see more and more that fanny packs are worn diagonally over the shoulder, this is also called cross body. Are you going to a festival or a day of shopping? Then this is a nice way to wear your bum bag, because it gives an extra twist to your outfit. However, there are also special cross body bags. These look like fanny packs, but are specifically designed to wear across your body. You could also just use your waist bag for this, though.

On your back

In addition to being able to wear your fanny pack on your stomach as a crossbody, you can also wear it on your back. Nowadays you are often no longer allowed to enter a festival with a backpack, but carrying a hip bag on your back is a good alternative. This way, nothing stands in your way anymore to enjoy the music. Of course, a fanny pack does not offer as much space as a backpack, but there are quite a lot of spacious waist bags you can buy and wear on your back.
