Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean are joining forces to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy. This session marks the starting point for further joint action.

This regional dialogue will help frame a common understanding of how the circular economy can facilitate the transition to climate-compatible and inclusive development in the Global South. The session will also showcase some innovative solutions to demonstrate existing opportunities across regions.

The African Circular Economy Alliance Secretariat, hosted by the African Development Bank, is organizing the session in collaboration with the Circular Economy Coalition for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The event is a World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2021 Accelerator Session. Co-organized by the Government of Canada and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and hosted for the first time in North America, WCEF2021 brings together forward-looking thinkers and doers. It presents the world's leading game-changers in the circular economy.
