Africa: Over 8.2 Million Cases of Covid-19 Confirmed Across Continent

As of September 24, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 8,211,300 while over  86,011,313 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  207,684 and  7,516,825 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases  2,892,081 and  86,655 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 925,507 ), Tunisia ( 703,059 ), Ethiopia ( 338,306 ), Libya ( 335,055 ), Egypt ( 299,710 ) and Kenya ( 247,675 ).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
