Tunis/Tunisia — "A surge in the number of women screened for breast cancer during or outside cancer awareness days has been reported for the past 5 years," said Head of the National Anti-cancer Programme at the Health Ministry's Healthcare Directorate Soumaya Mansouri.
"This proves that fear has subsided and that women are increasingly aware and concerned about their health," she estimated, recalling that about 90% of the early screened patients could be cured.
