Visiting his archive on Getty Images is akin to taking a crash course on the history of conflict in the Great Lakes region over the past few decades - from Uganda's foray into the Democratic Republic of Congo in the late 1990s, to the long-running Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) conflict in northern Uganda, to Uganda's deployment into troubled Somalia in 2007, to South Sudan's fight for independence and, later, the young nation's descent into fratricidal conflict beginning in 2013.
