Africa: Covid-19 Deaths Approach 220,000 Across Continent

As of November 3, 2021, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 8,505,930 while over  119,875,691 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  218,545  and  7,863,606 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases  2,922,391  and 89,197 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  946,543 ), Tunisia (  712,880 ), Ethiopia ( 365,776  ), Libya (  358,463  ), Egypt (  332,889 ) and Kenya (  253,409 ).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
