Tunisia: Tourism - 2nd Part of Employee Training and Re-Training Programme to Be Launched On November 29

Tunis/Tunisia — The second session of the re-training and training programme for tourism staff will be officially launched on November 29.

Almost 2,500 laid-off employees will receive this training, held as part of the Tunisian-German cooperation programme.

Supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), this programme will run until February 25, 2022. It will shed light on several topics including security, health protocols and ecology, reads a press release published Wednesday.

At a meeting with Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Mohamed Moez Belhassine, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany accredited to Tunis Peter Prügel, expressed his country's willingness to continue supporting Tunisia boost its economy and help it overcome socio-economic difficulties, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also indicated that the German government is committed to strengthening cooperation with Tunisia, particularly in employment, tourism and support for SMEs.
