Tunisia: Governors of Sidi Bouzid and Kebili Placed Into Custody Over Suspected Corruption

Tunis/Tunisia — The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Sidi Bouzid, on Thursday afternoon, ordered to place into custody the governors of Sidi Bouzid and Kebili.

The two officials would be suspected of financial corruption related to public procurement, spokesperson for the courts of Sidi Bouzid Jabeur Ghenimi told TAP.

Governor of Sidi Bouzid Mohamed Sedki Bouaoun and governor of Kebili Moncef Chelaghmia were dismissed Thursday, under a presidential decree issued by President Kais Saied.
