Tunisia: Agriculture Ministry Awards Prizes to Winners of "Best Tunisian Extra Virgin Olive Oil" Competition

Tunis/Tunisia — On the occasion of the World Olive Day, the Ministry of Agriculture awarded, on Tuesday, prizes to the winners of the competition "Best Tunisian extra virgin olive oil" in its 4th edition which is organised at the initiative of the National Oil Office.

A tribute was paid to the producer of "Om El Janna" who won the gold medal in the Mario Solinas competition organised in 2021, by the International Olive Oil Council, in Spain.

Minister of Agriculture, Mahmoud Elyes Hamza called, during this ceremony, to make the World Olive Day an opportunity to develop economic diplomacy to promote Tunisian oil.

He also called on the various stakeholders to preserve olive crops and to respect the regulations on harvesting, processing and storage and to develop exports of packaged and organic oil.
