Africa: Covid-19 Cases Climb, Over 9.2 Million Across Continent

As of December 21, 2021, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached  9,217,308 while over  173,823,259 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  226,047 and  8,344,234 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases  3,316,585 and  90,453 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  952,916 ), Tunisia (  721,103 ), Libya  ( 382,341  ), Ethiopia (  377,056 ), Egypt ( 376,233  ) and Kenya ( 264,727  ).
