Africa: Continent Approaches 10 Million Confirmed Cases of Covid-19

As of January 5, 2022, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached  9,853,700  while over  191,351,476 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  229,372  and  8,747,943 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases  3,483,590 and  91,451 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  971,961 ), Tunisia ( 731,077  ), Ethiopia (  432,807 ), Libya  ( 390,935  ) Egypt (  388,651 ) and Kenya (  302,134 ).
