Africa: Confirmed Covid-19 Cases Continue to Spike Across Continent

Harare — As of January 17, 2022, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 10,344,200  while over 204,724,336 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  233,758 and 9,200,284 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases   3,559,230 and 93,364 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 1,048,653 ), Tunisia ( 780,746 ), Ethiopia ( 457,322 ), Egypt ( 400,076 ), Libya  ( 397,319 )  and Kenya ( 317,634 )
