Africa: Over 250,000 Covid-19 Deaths Confirmed Across Continent

As of March 19, 2022, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 11,328,133 while over 262,449,948 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 250,997 and 10,459,818 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases of 3,698,803 and 99,767 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (1,162,322) , Tunisia (1,029,762), Libya (500,760), Egypt (495,373), Ethiopia (469,329), and Kenya (323,237).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
