MOGADISHU [SMN] - Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was elected as Somalia's 10th president after winning the indirect election held in Mogadishu on Sunday, May 15.
Mohamud became the first president to be re-elected for office. He replaces Farmajo who replaced him five years ago on February 8, 2017.
The new president is expected to appoint a new PM in the coming weeks.
