FULLTIME

Uganda 1 Niger 1

Kitende, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | A passionate and tense match at St Mary's stadium saw Niger fight back brilliantly from one goal down to draw with Uganda Cranes, but weren't quite able to find the winner.

Milton Karisa scored two minutes to the break to give Uganda a 1-0 lead in their Nations Cup qualifier. The Cranes had missed several chances at goal in the first 45 minutes of their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger at St Mary's stadium, Kitende in the outskirts of Kampala city.

With the second half underway, Niger who seemed more comfortable levelled the score through Mahamadou Amado with twenty minutes left of play.

In the end, Niger held Uganda Cranes to a 1-1 draw to grab a vital point away from home.

Uganda Cranes started the Nations Cup qualifiers with a 2-0 loss away to Algeria last week.
