The African Development Bank will host a webinar on green minerals and the energy transition on 11 July 2022 under the theme: Leveraging Africa's green minerals for the energy transition: The role of regional integration and the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

The webinar will bring together senior government officials (especially those from the Ministries of Mines, Energy, and industry), the African Union Commission, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, AfCFTA Secretariat, development partners, private sector, policy and technical experts, academia, think tanks, and civil society groups. They will discuss the role of the AfCFTA and regional integration in making Africa a hub for battery storage and Electric Vehicles (EVs) products.

There will be two sessions as outlined below:

Presentation on trends and role of battery storage and EVs in Africa by two experts

A panel discussion on the role of AfCFTA and regional integration in making Africa a hub for battery storage and electric vehicle products.
