Angola: 2022 Elections - Cne Analyses Polling Stations Mapping

Luanda — The National Electoral Council (CNE) on Friday will submit for analysis and approval in the plenary the definitive mapping, the number of electoral rolls and the number of polling stations and voting tables for the August 24 elections.

According to a communique that reached ANGOP, during the plenary, the members will also analyse and update the Regulation on the drawing of the order of candidates on the ballot paper, as well as the Regulation on the drawing of the distribution of airtime on radio and television.

The plenary, to be led by CNE President Manuel Pereira da Silva, will be briefed on the proposed training of members of polling stations and voting tables outside the country.

This year's elections, which will have the participation of Angolans in the diaspora for the first time, are the fifth in Angola's history, after those of 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017.

More than 14.3 million voters are expected for this ballot, of which 22,560 are abroad.
