Luanda — As of Sunday (24), 2,000 observers - national and foreigners - are following up the footsteps of the August 24 general elections.
Observers accredited by the National Elections Commission (CNE) will have up to 30 days, prior to the elections, to follow up the necessary steps of the process.
The electoral process has the participation of seven parties and one coalition of political parties. They are MPLA, UNITA, PRS, CASA-CE, FNLA, PHA, P-JANGO and APN.
This year's elections, which will have the participation of the Angolans residing abroad for the first time, are the fifth in Angola's history, after those in 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017.
14.3 million voters, of whom 22,560 residing abroad, are expected to exercise their right to vote.
Overseas voting will take place in 12 countries and 25 cities, such as South Africa (Pretoria, Cape Town and Johannesburg), Namibia (Windhoek, Oshakati and Rundu) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa, Lubumbashi and Matadi).
The previous polls were held on 23 August 2017.
Six political parties took part in the process, with the participation of 9.3 million voters.
The MPLA won by an absolute majority, with 61 percent of the votes, followed by UNITA with 26.67 percent and CASA-CE with 9.44 percent.
