Angola: Elections2022 - Interior Ministry Guarantees Smooth Elections

Luanda — Angola's minister of the Interior Eugénio Laborinho said Monday in Luanda that conditions have been created for the elections run smoothly and in a peaceful and cordial environment.

The minister stated this during the audience he granted to observers of the electoral mission of the Network of Jurisdictional Organs of the Electoral Administration (ROJAE), of the CPLP.

The minister said that the electoral observation missions in Angola are always welcome, noting that in good period, the Government created the technical, administrative and logistical conditions necessary for the success of the democratic process.

"The Ministry of the Interior, given its specific powers, has increased responsibilities before, during and after the election. I am pleased to inform you that all security conditions have been created, so that it takes place in a peaceful and cordial environment", he said.

In turn, the head of the CPLP observer mission, José Carlos Barreiro, said he was pleased with the information provided by the minister and that he guarantees that the process will run smoothly.
