Angola: President Paul Kagame Congratulates Angolan Counterpart

Luanda — The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, has sent a letter to his Angolan counterpart, Joao Lourenço, congratulating him on his re-election in the August 24 election, the Angolan President's Press Office said Wednesday.

A message from the Head of State of Botswana, Mogkweetsi Masisi, also arrived on the same date and with the same content, the press office said.

The note also refers to the congratulations of the Presidents of the Central African Republic, Faustin Touadera, and Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

João Lourenço was also congratulated for his reelection as President of the Republic, by the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Denis Mukwege, a DR Congo physician recognized for his action in favour of women who are raped in armed conflicts.

The MPLA party and its leader, João Lourenço, won the fifth general elections held in Angola with 51.17 percent of the votes.
