Angolan Diplomat Highlights Neto's Qualities

Luanda — Angolan ambassador to Turkey José Patrício highlighted Friday the humanist and patriotic qualities of the founder of the Angolan nation, Agostinho Neto.

During a meeting, held ahead of the National Hero's Day on 17th , José Patrício considered Agostinho Neto "a man of great dimension", who managed to transmit humanist and patriotic values.

Addressing diplomats from the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), accredited in Turkey, the Angolan ambassador praised Neto's contribution to the anti-colonial struggle for the liberation of Angola and other African countries.

The meeting was also attended by some figures, including Turkish entities, academics and students, according to a press note from the Angolan Embassy in that country.

On September 17th, Angola celebrated National Hero's Day, ahead of anniversary of Agostinho Neto, born in 1922.
