Angola: World Bank President Congratulates João Lourenço

Luanda — The president of the World Bank Group David Malpass congratulated the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, on his re-election for another five-year term, and sworn in at the head of the Angolan nation.

In the letter, which reached ANGOP Wednesday, David Malpass recalls that the World Bank Group appreciates the partnership with Angola, which dates back to 1991.

In document, he stressed the commitment to supporting the Government's efforts to achieve sustainable and inclusive development for Angola.

Finally, the President of the World Bank Group expresses his best wishes to President João Lourenço, the Government and the Angolan people.

João Lourenço was sworn in as President of the Republic last Thursday (15), following the recent general elections, which were won by the MPLA and its candidate, with 51.17 percent of valid votes.
