Nairobi — Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Thursday attended the National Assembly Justice and Legal Affairs Commitee (JLAC) meeting on the removal of four Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.
Oding was accompanied by Wiper leader Kalonzo Muyoka in the meeting seeking the removal of IEBC Vice Chair Juliana Cherera and commissioners Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang'aya.
There had been four petitions presented to the National Assembly by the Republican Party, Dennis Nthumbi, Geoffrey Langat, and Owuor Steve Gerry for their removal due to gross misconduct, abuse of office, violation of the Constitution, and taking sides in the August 9th presidential race.
Both Odinga and Musyoka were accompanied by Azimio's communications director Makau Mutua.
